I take em in granny low, idling. May be overkill since my truck sits on tall 24.5’s, but I’ve seen what happens to a PTO when it contacts one of those things on a bounce, and it ain’t good.

I don’t get in no hurry on lease roads either. Them weenie wagons can come right on around, I’ll find a wide spot, I don’t care.
