We are having problems with our T880s. Automatic while backing up, mine not backing down hill, but backing uphill or on the flat, when applying brake pedal, not stopping. Complained for over a year, Kenworth in Omaha thought I'd been smoking something. We've thru trial and error, came up with pushing shifter into neutral and turning ignition key off. Stop all electronics and hope for the best. Also happening in our Peterbilt day cabs too. Not everyday, not all trucks. As for mine, happened in November and ended up hitting box dropped loaded behind mine. We always complained to safety because what if another driver was hooking up to the box behind, inspecting it, maybe would not know what hit them. I've been off since December 6th due to rib issues coming from this impact, contracted staph infection. In hospital for 12 days and 6 weeks later still taking 60ml antibiotics 3 times a day. So started with KW transmission tjou.

I got the exact same truck with the same issue. It sucks! You just gotta learn to feather the gas peddle like you would a clutch and it works just fine. Just takes a little finesse.

You can get the transmission settings changed. They now have Urge to Move, Creep Mode, and Blended pedal. The software changes were made to address slow speed manoverability.

Already mentioned but correct will need to change parameter settings using SR. Still good to verify all mechanical components/service intervals are in order.

I have a kenworth t680 2017 automatic and mine does the same thing as well. I'll put it in reverse then try to push the pedal lightly it won't go so I'll push a little harder still won't go can a tiny bit harder not much more and then it will go super fast so I have to slam on the brakes at the same time it shakes the cab so much I've been told it's just a Kenworth automatic T680.

Have someone hook up and change your settings to urge to move. Some like it.......Some dont. Makes it act like an auto and creep when you let off the brake. No throttle.

If your talking about connecting a trailer. Theres no happy median and it is hard to control, I agree.
