Something tells me they're going to have the book thrown at them. Good to hear they're no longer endangered, though.

We have red shouldered hawks all the time in my area. Had one treed by the bird feeder one day. I approached it to within 4 feet to try and shoo it. It did not shoo and eyeballed me as to examine meat content of myself.

A short foray into federal laws with them things revealed some very stiff penalties for shooting those things which would be what it takes to get rid of it. The more I think about it the more I see that my "Birds" about 40 total, many paired are really smart. They hide for as long it takes for Hawk to go away without eating a bird or anything.

When a predatory bird is not afraid of a man, there is something wrong with it. Possibility that it was a pet at one time perhaps. I don't for one want to risk it.

Why would someone do this ?
We all know what that bird symbolizes, and it's heritage in this country.

It was no mistake. It doesn't look like a crow.
I hope they get them, and they suffer dearly.

    x1Heavy and mjd4277 Thank this.

Since this happened in Arkansas, it was either Bubba, Scooter, or Cletus who shot that bird. It couldn't have been Earl because he was in Bammy at the time of the shooting.

I would’ve said some juvenile kids did it, not realizing the severe consequences of a cruel act,and to our national bird no less.
