Most where I am use 11R24.5 for the ground clearance, and hopper clearance. Especially if you are going out into the fields.
I have 11R22.5iamfargo Thanks this. -
Same size wheels on the trailer as truck, you can always use good used drives as trailer tires.
-
So go with 24.5?
-
If that's what you have on one or the other. It doesn't make that much of a difference really.

I am not a big fan of low pro tires for off-road. Seems the tall rubber
does better in muddy, low traction conditions.
I would definitely keep trailer and tractor the same size. Half wore
out steer tires will run a long time on the trailer.
Some will run the low pro tires trying to get a lower ride height. With
hopper bottom that is usually not a concern......unless running a tall side
trailer. 11R24.5 would be my first choice. -
I run tall 24's because the truck come with them. I have ran low pro 24's with a possum belly hopper and never had any trouble. (The mid 90's style timpte that the hoppers were really low and looked one piece though they weren't).
Don't over think it drop it in the top pour it out the bottom that's really a there is to it.
I do agree with the above statement same size on truck as trailer -
Roger that boss man is there a big weight difference in the two sizes tires with air ect I’m just trying to shed weight anyway possible
-
drive tires 15# between 24.5 and 275/80/22.5
trailer tires 10# between 24.5 and 275/80/22.5 -
If your going off pavement like logging, bark/chips, dirt & ag do go 11R 24.5.
