Thanks guys, we're one step closer. Now if I can just figure out where all these wires and hoses go! lol7-UP, blairandgretchen, Al. Roper and 23 others Thank this.

You can be around a truck every day and still not see stuff. I just noticed that the fender turn signal lenses are not the same.
That's going to bug me til I get home and fix it.
beastr123, 7-UP, blairandgretchen and 27 others Thank this. -
That 287c... How much have you lifted with it? They list operating load at 3800 lbs... But breakout force is 7300 lbs. I used to think they would lift close to breakout force, but... I reckon not? How much better than 3800 lbs does it do?johndeere4020, Feedman, Grubby and 15 others Thank this.

I honestly don't know exactly how much. I do know that we have shuttled some pallets in which we knew the weight, and they exceeded 4,000 lbs.. It has the counterweights on the back, and really it will keep lifting until the back end gets light or more. This one has the vertical lift option so when the bucket is high it doesn't end up over the cab.
With the bucket on loading out of a pile you can stall the lift though.
We used it to remove the engine, but at that time the oil pan and head had been removed, so I wasn't sure that it would handle the whole thing putting it back in. I'm not sure what the engine with retarder weighs, but I wouldn't have wanted to handle much more as it was getting pretty light on the rear. We didn't attach to the forks any closer to the cab for fear of running out of reach, and concern that the forks would hit the firewall or windshield.7-UP, Al. Roper, johndeere4020 and 18 others Thank this. -
I took a couple years worth of auto body class in high school. It's part of the curriculum they offer when you are not a model citizen I guess. And I don't quite remember this method of Bondo being taught.

If you had enough counter weight... think it would do 5,000?johndeere4020, Feedman, PoleCrusher and 11 others Thank this.

Sounds like Ur as anal as me, those Tow Hooks on the Front Bumper would need to be positioned vertically too if possible7-UP, Al. Roper, peterbilt_2005 and 16 others Thank this.

What has been seen...cannot be unseen.
Reckon if you replace a bulb you gotta do the other side as well? -
That bugs me too. There's a fine line between them being loose and stretching them out to the point of breaking. I've learned to live with it.
IlI' just replace both. I found some corrosion on the plug ins for those and the headlights so might as well gut all the wiring up there and start fresh. Gotta do the back end of the stepdeck too.7-UP, Hurricane69, Al. Roper and 19 others Thank this.
