Alignment issue -- truck pulling to right -

I changed out leaf spring bushings last week - they aligned the truck with new tires.

now the truck is Pulling to the Left - I was told .. to balance the right Tire - I did that
and it improved but still pulling -- left *** the TA guy said he put 6 OZ weight on the right tire.

The Steering whee - also is pitched about 5% - not perfectly straight.

if i let go of steering wheel it will go right right away.

** The original work was done in Denver - I am in Texas now, so have to do further work elsewhere.

That's a pile of BS babble from that mechanic.

Most all vehicles from 18 wheelers on down to little cars come out of the alignment shop at factory numbers and assuming wheels and tires are balanced etc there is no pulling.

I actually am trained on the old Alignment rack which is manual and involves some paperwork etc to doodle stuff. I have forgotten most of it. But I do know that most anything when aligned properly as intended by factory settle right down and behaves without pulling.

If anything the vehicle should try to come back to center when horsed out of line. The old steering of big rigs was the same. You would spin it for a left turn and let it go. She will go right back to straight and center coming out of the turn. Today's trucks don't have that usually. Too nuetrual and need holding hands all the way around.

I am going to have to willfully stop typing, that babble from that mechanic is such tripe... I bet it will take 10 pounds of lead sitting on his foot to make him be straight.

Find a shop that does not use a computer, could be simple like your drives are gapped on the road side. Anecdotal but my guy got to test out a new bee line computer alignment, put it against their old way of doing it and the machine was off.

I wouldn't trust TA technicians , most are inexperienced young mechanics working there just to get some experience, got many problems starting from a basic oil change, had to tow the truck to Volvo .

Correct. Not a balance issue. Make that 20 lbs on that so called "mechanic's" foot.

The only time I ever had a truck pull left was when I had cheap Chinese steer tires put on. We ended up taking the left steer tire and flipped it on the rim, truck ran straight, I put about 100k on them and got a good set of Michelins.

nothing to do with balance this is just bs they say make sure all axles are sitting straight drives will affect steer more than a lot of people think they do, make sure you do a 3 axle alignment if there is anyone that still does it old fashioned way, although that will be hard to find.
