Waiting for governor to sign.
17th state to do so.D.Tibbitt, lovesthedrive, Omega1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
He'll get "up to a year" in jail? Realistically that means he'll actually do what...maybe six or eight months?
That's not nearly enough time.
I hope he doesn't show up on TTR.D.Tibbitt, lovesthedrive, Bud A. and 2 others Thank this. -
Oregon has already passed that law.D.Tibbitt and lovesthedrive Thank this.

They had video of him using the phone. Driver facing cameras. I bet the lawyers are having a field day, especially now that the driver plead guilty.
D.Tibbitt, lovesthedrive and Bud A. Thank this. -
Telephones are no longer a tool for getting in touch, they are now a full fledged addiction. People think red lights are for catching up on Snapchat. Had a real talented female(for lack of a bad word) pass me the other day, arm through the steering wheel texting on the phone in her other hand, I was going 70. Where we're going as a society is not a good place, sad, very sad.
D.Tibbitt, longbedGTs, Woodys and 8 others Thank this. -
We’ll see him posting here in about a year for a job. Probably say something along the line of “I was reaching for something and crashed by accident”
D.Tibbitt, Tombstone69 and tscottme Thank this. -
I just don't understand it. I'm not a proponent of bashing folks from younger generations, but this is out of hand. People are dying everyday from drivers screwing around with their cell phones. Society has become so addicted to them, that people will walk right into you in a parking lot or on the sidewalk....or sadly in this case, run right into you in a big rig. To make matters worse, many companies use them as consistent means to communicate with their drivers, be it via text or calls. I suppose that's why so many truckers are walking around looking like aliens with a headset on all the time...even at the dinner table or in the restroom.

GA passed that last July. I was in class today and the instructor who holds the title as a " master instructor" told a story how he was at a red light next to a lady talking on the phone. He was gesturing to her to put the phone down..she gave him the middle finger..soon as a the light turned green the COP which was behind her threw the blue lights on her ###. Smh
homeskillet, D.Tibbitt, allniter and 2 others Thank this.
