Blownscoot,
the post was just an exaggeration and compilation of how people on the forums b#### and gripe about companies they work for or what THEY think are like even though they have never worked for them. It is not one company in general, just a blanket statement.

Any number of companies Ive run for have all that you wrote and then some. I had one dispatcher use profantiy telling me to be somewhere in PA by 8 am and does not care how bad the tractor really was, get it there now.
YOU drive it. temper temper, tossing keys onto his desk. (The tractor was really bad that day) I made sure the entire building heard me. Using that dockside roar.
His eyebrows went up, eyes got big as saucers, paled fast then his vessals started to have difficulty containing his temper as he passed pink then red towards purple really fast. He actually started crying a little bit out of sheer anger at me, the pipsqueak kid who dared to talk back to elders.
The rest of the office and breakroom laughed him out of the building which made it worse.
It was one of my favorite quits. I only lasted 4 days there. They did everything they could to trash DAC etc. They went out of business a few months later. I was back on the road by then.
Very few are the trucking companies and people worth staying with. The rest can go to hell. And the worst part? They did it to themselves across the board.
I am somewhat bent. But you wont believe the smallest of straws breaking the corporate camel's back. One day in a distribution center near Philly-Trenton, the entire place (The reciever) had zero interest in my container full of cargo. NO one could be bothered. Calls to dispatcher for intervention etc ended with the orders to fix the problem and stop bothering anyone. And hurry up.
I hung the box over a corner berm, 110K worth of stuff. (Weight in gross for the whole rig) when the box strained on my tractor, I released the 5th wheel which instantly slammed back. Popped right out and down snapping the glad hands with a THUMP into the small forest down below. About 30 feet into a drainage collecting spot common to industrial areas.
Scribbled jabberish onto the paperwork, crammed it into a courier envelope and stuffed it into the first pick up box I saw at the truckstop. I don't know I ever got paid the 150 or so dollars for that run, and did not care. I did make sure however never to return to that place ever again. I think they finally went out of business entirely.
When dispatch does not give a #### about the load, the owner could not be bothered about that stuff in the box and the entire distribution center staff all the way to the suit in the deep corner office could not be bothered because there is 50 more with me trying to get answers at the same time with more circling outside looking for a parking wait spot.. chaos. No one cared. Finally I did not care either. It's dropped. (Not unloaded etc...) as in delivered.
I really resent that. It took a couple years in a different and better employer running something completely different in freighting to draw the poison out of me.
Poor broker, that must have been a one hell of a tender billing for the value of that merchandise, whatever it was.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Do you guys realize that the OP is 14 years ago? I really wish this site could deal with this. I usually read the "new posts", and every now and then this happens. Crap guys, I used to have hair 14 years ago!

Sometimes as a trucker I have gotten abusive towards a bad company. Even today I would. Almost as expected. Like a bank cashier having to be on time and to the penny on the count.
I hope that someday this industry will clean the eff up and stop it with the abuses. It's unnecessary. How would the passengers feel if half the jet is broken and the pilots are in saggy clothes and flip flops angry that they have to fly to Jersey today and half dead from no sleep. -
