Many times I have had to run my tandems toward the rear of the trailer when you have to back down a slope to to dock. When on a slope, the farther back the tandems, the higher the back of the trailer.

That happens at my facility. Have to back up far enough to push lock down.

If you lower the landing gear make sure you put something on the steering wheel to remind you that it's down otherwise you're going to have an oopsie.

I'll sometimes lower the gear, but I also will unlock the 5th wheel and pull forward so I have a small gap between the plate and the trailer

I just disconnect the emergency air line. Takes 2 seconds to put back and I’ll know I did that so I could remember to raise the legs.

    TankerP and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

landinggear and pulling forward you do not need to disconnect any lines, and you never feel them pull in n out of the trailer.

Then one day you forget for some reason and pull forward and yank your lines off.

    Dave_in_AZ and NavigatorWife Thank this.

    -disconnect and raise legs
    -wait in truck
    -knock on door
-“Here’s your paperwork your good to go”
-forgets that he’s disconnected and pulls off and yanks his lines
    -Durrrrr

A lot can happen while you’re waiting to unload. You could be absolutely stressed from situations at home and it just slips your mind. Honest mistake. Don’t set yourself up for it to happen in the first place is best though. Only takes a couple moments to remove the lines.
