Ignore the prick. You are on private property. Its their call. Another pathetic owner who feels everyone owes him.

Indeed. What did he do beat you up?

I am mildly amused when drivers claim that they were forced to break the HOS. I don't MIND running a little something now and then when it's necessary. But choosing to break the HOS? And risk the OOS etc plus fines and all that? The owner can drive the truck hisself before I would break that.

This whole episode would fit right into a soap opera day tv about a bad marriage between trucking company and driver.

It was either I did it or didn't have a job, I had debt piling up to the roof. No company at that time wanted to hire me because of insurance and he knew this and took advantage of it. Bad call on my end I agree, nothing much I could do about it now.

Yep I never really counted on him as a real friend, he's basically a pot head and probably needed money for weed. I found a parking spot for $100 a month in a gated lot. For once a week parking.

Never mind the debt. If the implied threat to losing job that is called Coercion. There are actually laws against Coercion of drivers.

FMCSA’s driver coercion rule published, blocks carriers, shippers from threatening drivers with loss of pay

You would be wise to pick another word, it's possible he will visit this site someday and see he has a slander case against you. See where i am going with that?

Forced dispatch is very common in this industry. Don't fall for it, drivers need to learn their jobs above and beyond driving to help them avoid these things. Not all employee / employer relationships end on good terms, in fact there are probably more that don't.
When I call former employers, I have to read between the lines often. If you have an employer that flat out lied about some aspect of the job (work hours, pay etc) and you spent less than the three month probation period with them, do not list them on the resume.

If the jerk is hanging around your truck, I would rig up a camera. He may try to damage it somehow, or make it unsafe. He does that and sees you drive off, he'll phone DOT. Or rent a rottweiler and give it a 25 foot leash.

    Welcome to 2019.

I can tell you now, if you think there is BS is trucking. YOU HAVE NO ####ING IDEA what it's like in Trades.

Seriously man, I would rather be 1) A Criminal 2) An Illegal in a tropical country or 3) Dead before I ever went back to Trades. Esp building trades in Toronto or Vancouver.

The guy is just being a dick head, don't let it bother you too much. You're almost past 2 years, you can get a nice local job with Walmart, Coop, Safeway/Sobeys, and enjoy life.
