Are you still with Paper Transport?

I've been looking up some info on them to see if they're a good company to work for.

I think it can depend on your location. IMO their repair garage is weird to deal with because it isn't their's, they rent an office at a repair facility used by multiple companies. I kinda think a person who can park the truck at a terminal that does repairs to fix things while their off duty might find it more convenient. There is a tendency for me to be sent in for repairs while under a load.

However, if you're not having truck issues or needing repairs, it can be fairly basic. Georgia Pacific is our main Paper customer and most of the facilities I go to are easy docks. We often go to Walmart, Costco, Publix DCs and stores which are also easy docks. If you're lucky, the trailer is pallets of large bulk products like paper towel, so even slow grocery places can break them down and count the product in reasonable time. We do get some detention pay past an hour an a half.

Some equipment is in rough shape and I hear driver complaints, but new Freightliner Cascadias are coming into the fleet right now.

well, I've FINALLY been out in the system for right at a week! First time since back in March/April that I haven't gone out and sent right back home. Guess freight is really down this year. From other drivers and terminals even telling me it's been a slow year. Well, I can't complain, I've been making good this year...and being home a little more than usual is nice. Finally got to Pasadena(past year and half I've only gotten there every 6-7 months!), went to hotel, as usual, and even the 'check in clerk' asked why we aren't there as much. haha Oh well, best thing about Pasadena is the WATR app...they have a killer mexican joint that'll deliver to it, and it's totally worth it! Funny they didn't send me home, but going up to Cincy for Monday del. More than likely they've been having me do a dedicated run, then turn me around and go home. I'm hoping next year things pick up....we'll see.

I can't say. I only know one guy that used to be out of Kankakee, but he moved down to High Point terminal. However, I'm sure they have some good runs going out west, as that's what I've heard. But that's mainly for their drivers, as they sometimes turn them around and send them back. But, this is what I've 'heard'.
