i have been visiting this site for a while , finally needed to register because i need help.
the upper radiator hose to my n14 leaks where it clamps to the radiator. i replaced the hose with a new silicone hose with a recommended clamp. it just keeps leaking . a friend advised me to put jb weld around the radiotor and then slide the hose on, i did that , also put jb weld all around the hose. it still drips. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

First thing that comes to my mind is that you may have a pinhole in the radiator, right where the hose clamps on.

Second thing that comes to mind is you're gonna have fun replacing that hose if you used JB Weld as a sealer!

If the radiator neck is rough from being old and corroded, you might try sanding it a little to smooth it out and maybe use 2 clamps instead of one. I don't think JB weld would help it. Are you sure the leak isn't coming from the tank seam or gasket and running down to the hose then making it look like the hose is leaking.

Yes, try sanding. If you have a N14 I guess your truck is around 8-10 years old. Chances are the neck is corroded. Double check you do have the right diameter rad hose. There are, for instance, 3 1/2" and 3 1/4", so make sure you aren't trying to install a 3 1/2" over a 3 1/4" neck. Also make sure your clamp isn't coming to the end of travel and therefore simply not tightening enough. If the rad neck is corroded, short of replacing the rad, you can try RTV silicone. Just smear it all around the area the rad hose will sit and don't be afraid to use two clamps. Try to make sure the surfaces are clean and dry first, allow a couple of hours for the silicone to set up before refilling. Good luck!

you did not indicate what type of radiator you have. i had a 03 fliner with a n14, 1 of the last, and it had a plastic core radiator.
