I mount mine to the front of the bed, always have.
Most people freak about drilling holes, but personally I tend to want to wear stuff out before I die and leave it to someone else. LOL!!
I use half of a mirror mount and good quality stainless steel hardware.
Abit of RTV silicone on the mount side keeps the water out.
I also run a 6ga chassis ground wire off of one of the bolts on the mount
to a stock bolt attached to the truck frame. To some this may be overkill, but history has taught me to do it going in on all new installs.
I spare no expense, solider, silicone, zip ties and heat shrink are a must IMO.
Same applies to powering the radio,I run both pos/neg lines with separate spade fuses off the battery back into the cab thru a hole I drill in the firewall.
Takes about an hour and 3-4 cold beers,or 2hrs with 4-5 cold beers.LOL!!
My preferred stick for barefoot mobile is a long shaft Wilson 2K.
anyway..........
Anyone know for sure what the Cobra's are doing with the Mosfets ?
