Been thinking on one of those myself as one was highly recommended for me from a friend that has extensive adventure and off-road riding experience even though most of his is on a BMW. I have also been thinking of a Multistrada, V-Strom or Africa Twin. I have test-driven the Multi, but none of the others.

 

the one required item for me is factory cruise control, so that means either the beemer or the s-10. there's no BMW MC dealers anywhere close to me (5 hours away), but a Yammie dealer ten minutes east in Peace River.

I've done a few long distance rides on the 450X...while the bike is dead nuts reliable, the comfort factor is nowhere close to where I need it to be. could only do about an hour on the stock seat, bought a Corbin and that doubled the saddle time but I want a bike that I can go until it's empty without having to stop.
