Good for you. Being open to learn is the best policy in life.

Me, I put my shoulder about halfway into the spot beyond the one I want, then turn the steers to the right so the tractor is about 45 degrees to the spot, then centwr my steers and drift forwards until I'm about 15-20 feet from whatever object in on the far side, then steer to the left until parallel with the lane of travel. If you did it right thw tail if the trailer is about a spot beyond, pointing twoards the hole, and you have a decent kink tractor to trailer. Then watch the trailer and put it in the hole .

You have to watch the trailer as you set up, adjusting for variances such as tandem placement, weight , terrain, etc.

Ok, so instead of a 12:00 - 9:00, you do a 12 to 1030 and get back under the trailer.
    I think I got it
    Thanks

Well boys, its 85 in Atlanta.
I think we're out of the whole 'snow' thing for a while.

If 1200 is parralell to the hole, then I do a 10:30 and 9. I get confused with the clock.

I find that in most customers and truck stops with trailers opposite my hole if the trainee goes all the way to 1200 initially they end up too close to the object on the far side. The trailer goes to the spot perfectly, but they don't have space to swing the tractor back in front.

But then again, what do I know? I couldn't back into a double wide at the Joplin J last night.

A trooper directing traffic around a jackknifed semi this morning on Highway 86 & Interstate 90 in Jackson County was knocked to the ground by a wind gust.

The trooper was not injured but the video is a reminder of theconditions caused by this snowstorm. MN State Patrol on Twitter MN State Patrol on Twitter

No you hit the nail. 12 & 9 works great for like an upgrade back on a range where there's lots of space.

I guess I go about 11 & 9, but you have to be 3 feet away from the side, drivers, you want to back in, and I start my turn when my shoulder is just pass the space.

Then run it out like 2 or 3 feet once your at 9.

@Opus I will get you on doing that local gig I had with the full size Century.

6 to 8 months, you'll be ready for truck rodeo nationals.

I want a full sized century. Or at least it's mirrors. And its triangle windows. You don't realize just how useful they are until you don't have them anymore

I always liked the way they felt. You could just feel the truck under you for some reason.
