He's in the corner, calculating how many miles he can run before he trips an automatic DOT audit of the company records.

4000 miles a week will raise some eyebrows, but won't bring the wrath of the DOT down on you if all your receipts match. Telling the DOT you did it with a 65 mph truck, might trigger an audit.

I have no doubt the man could run 5100 miles in a week. I've done it. But your company risk an audit, if you do it consistantly.

It has nothing to do with your logs looking legal. It has everything to do with your route and truck set up.

Most SRT trucks max out at 65 & 67 mph. When I drove for them, they would do 72 mph. BUT, they wanted us to log 65 even in Nebraska. I argued that point (Nebraska) till I was blue in the face. And got no where.

Their opinion was, it is impossible to average more than 65 mph....even in Nebraska.

    65 x 65 = 4225 miles

You have to show the pre trips, drops, and the fuel stops. So you get about 65 hours every 8 days in your best week.

Of course, you could do it in 5 or 6 days. But I would have to see a dispatch sheet. Before I believed ANY driver at SRT got more than 4000 miles in any week.

My husband and I run as a team for SRT. Now, I'm not saying that SRT is the best company out there, but they are far from the worst, and we get between 6000 and 7500 miles a week on a regular basis. In fact, they have run us right out of hours on a couple of occasions (which is rare for a team). Why do we got so many miles? because we do our job, don't ##### and complain about everything, and the company knows they can rely on us to deliver on time, or even early. If you are a reliable driver you will get the miles. If you stop all the time, are late on loads, ##### about the loads you are given, or basically make a pain out of your self you will not get the miles.
Yes, they've stopped the 3% match on the 401k, and they make you pay $13 a month for prepass, but they are trying to cut costs to keep the doors open, so we're willing to work with them. Besides, if we quit over something so petty we'd be cutting our own throats- we get good miles here, and very few other companies are hiring these days.
We've never had a problem getting home when we wanted to - we usually stay out two months then take 6 days off. And the people we work with at SRT are some of the finest we've worked with. We've got a great dispatcher.

Prior posts would lead one to believe that SRT offers absolutely nothing regarding mileage.I will assume that your post is indicative of the fact that IF a driver, team or single,is willing to run the miles that SRT will offer the miles even while driving a 65-67 mph truck.
Apparently they are not scared to risk an audit by running even teams out of hours. Thanks for sharing that info as another team or perhaps a solo driver may want to consider SRT now that they know the miles are there if said driver/drivers want them.
Actually many would appreciate the fact that the trucks at SRT will eclipse 65 mph and that may become the winning point for applying there.
Here's to continued success at SRT for you and hubby.

You guys and gals can talk SRT up all you want.

But it won't explain the 300% turn over. It won't explain the number of trucks sitting in their yard now. Nor will it excuse the lack of miles for a driver who was never late, never refused a load, and stayed out 6-8 weeks at a time.

Anyone who goes to work for this POS company, gets what they deserve. Which is nothing.

If you enjoy getting 800 mile runs as a solo driver, with 5 day delivery times FIRM. Then by all means, this is the company for you.

If you enjoy having your empty trailer taken away from you, and given to a team, so they can move while you wait for THEIR load to be unloaded. Then by all means....SRT is the company for you.

If you enjoy shutting down on clear roads, because some candy ### Covenant driver reported bad road conditions. Then SRT is the company for you.

If you take great pleasure in having your pre-loaded trailer hidden from you for 10 hours, because someone in dispatch thinks you're running too hard. Then SRT is the company for you.

I drove for SRT and i can tell you that this company is a joke! Like most large companies out here, they really don't give a ##$% about you. It seemed as if they didn't care if you knew that or not! My orientation class had approx. 35 drivers in it. Every time I got by the terminal the orientation classes were packed. That in itself should tell you something. In my case, I got miles when I first started working there, but gradually the miles dropped drasticly. They recently started charging drivers to use the prepass/ezpass, in addition, if you have a blowout and have to have the tire replaced on the road, they have the mechanic check your air pressure on all of your tires. If any are low, they will deduct 100 bucks from your check. Other than these and a few other things.....they are great to work for:)
