Buddy of mine does a dedicated account with them out of Dyresburg TN and loves it.
I did 8 months with them. The good: clean equipment and nice facilities. Uniforms and decent benefits to boot. Good training. The bad: OTR was constantly flipping my clock and I drove fatigued many times. I NEVER drive fatigued at Schnieder as they allow you to set your clock. The miles at Averitt OTR at the time were very hit or miss. There were many hours of sitting, being sent to loads that had already shipped or were otherwise unavailable. Delivering dog food on multi stop 4am runs sucked.
I did the on tour logistics thing for a while. These are supposed to be the cream of the crop drivers. My group was mostly a bunch of drunks but it was a great experience despite mostly night driving.
I would not return to this company in the end personally.

I would NOT do regional or OTR at Averitt because the only info I have about that part of the company I know about Nadhville, TN. I've never heard even 1 Nashville OTR driver saying they get enough miles. I don't know if Nashville is typical or unusual compared to other terminals/service centers. OTR is hard enough, if it doesn't pay more than other options it's not very attractive.

The regional guys I've talked to in NC say they are swamped with work. We will see. I just got all set up at the quality in here in Cookeville, start orientation tomorrow.

@pank83
I did a semi-quick low down on orientation. Here is the link to it. Feel free to message me or ask any questions you may have in the thread.
Averitt Express Orientation and Interviewstscottme Thanks this. -
Does Averitt hire people fresh out of CDL school?
-
If it's an approved school and they have student positions open.

They have a "finishing school" at company HQ in Cookeville, TN to give newbies additional training. I think finishing school is a few weeks.

I don’t know who you talked to in NC but we sure aren’t swamped with work here. It’s extremely slow in NC right now . They are still hauling broker loads and leaving multiple local drivers at home with no pay every day ... not trying to be negative but giving you a heads up.Last edited: Apr 13, 2019
