Unions raise the bar for all drivers in LTL and parcel: union and non-union. Non-unions gotta pay close to union scale/bennies to keep men from signing cards. Without unions, we don't get the wages and benefits we enjoy as LTL truckers. Period. End of story. If the unions go away/weaken like they did in OTR, you can say goodbye to the wages you enjoy. And that's the facts, Jack !!

Unions have out lived their usefulness, why do you think a new one ton pickup costs as much a new Pete did 40 years ago? Same with college, it was a affordable before everybody and their dog thought they couldn't survive without that piece of paper, now there's people paying 600 bucks a month on a degree they'll probably never use. The more you increase the cost to have people working the higher you drive the price of everything, a very simple economic principle few people seem to grasp anymore.
