I was trying to find a better picture. If you look at this one and how dirty the mirror is vs the mirror eye. It seems to do pretty good.

Cameras aren’t natural. The brain has to interpret what the camera has already interpreted. I might like this in addition, but NEVER as primary.
In the meantime I’ll be hiring hackers to send images of tiny green aliens climbing on the truck.

Yeah, it might be a nice supplement.
The camera following the trailer could be good at times but it's not natural.
Not sure about how bright they seem inside the cab at night. That can't be good for your forward vision.

I have been known to stand on the running board and back in before, even have jumped off and looked while it is backing up. lol

I can remember similar debates about automated manual transmissions as recently as 5 years ago. Just go to Truck paper.com to see the percentage of trucks now sold with automatics, and none of those truck listed are heading for any mega, all small fleets and individuals.
