Very little freight in the Jonestown planning area.

 

My dl said to take whatever they send me. Really slow he said. He said one of his drivers around here refuse to relocate to Lewiston terminal. He been sitting all day.
I get to pick up a load in Eugene or tomorrow morning and goes to Fremont ca anytime Monday.
Only 545 mile loaded plus the 28 mt.
Manning on getting to pilot in dunnigan ca and doing another 34 reset.
Will look to see what's around Fremont but no truckstops are. It's a bit south of Oakland so won't need to worry about truck getting burnt lol

 

Btw... I'm at the t/A in Coburg or.

 

The Bay Area is dead for truck stops.
They like us to deliver stuff, but hate us to park there.

Personally, if I was given a pplan to Fremont on a holiday weekend, I would turn it down and sit without pay.
I think my reason would simply be... "Hostile environment, in so many ways".

 

The funny thing is, my early childhood was in Fremont, CA.
We lived next to the freeway and could see the raceway from our back yard.
Very good memories of that place, but now...

 

I was stationed in coast guard for 2 yrs in alameda. Ship was docked between Oakland and alameda

 

This is what I do in many areas already, welcome to the club.

 

Lathrop terminal. Have a delivery tomorrow at anytime I get there. Have to use Google earth for directions. Qc nav says restricted route and Mac 23 has none.
Had a swift o/o or l/o pass me yesterday going pretty fast for Calif. North of corning.
Awhile later I pass him. He had blew a super single. He had a strap tied to the d.o.t by more holding the rim up.
Saw hi.
Again when I was walking up to terminal. Walked up to him and said I saw where you left the blown tire. Lol.
He said he did the Mac 55 for the repair. Lost the mudflaps too.
Then he Tcalled the load and grabbed another. I walked up behind him to dispatch to see if they had better directions to my final.
Walked by that trailer a few times today and tire not fixed. Guy said it had a delivery this morning.
Hope he didn't screw the other driver

 

Got a preplan that's a live load at 1330 in Oakland ca. Delivers in Tacoma wa with no appt yet.

 

Had a litte incident with an unwanted passenger this afternoon.

A rather LARGE grasshopper (biggest one I've EVER seen) came flying out of my sleeper (while I was driving), bounced off the dash, then disappeared on the floor. Scarred the crap out of me! I managed to get him out the passenger window after a bit "bug wrangling" on my part. Talk about "distracted driving"!
