Cfi school recent grads

There is no pay during school. After schooling, you will be paid $25/day for the orientation. After orientation you get $0.26/mile while you are out with your trainer. They state it is 7,500 miles, however I have heard of people going over that. Then when you upgrade to your own truck you will make $0.35/mi.

During school, they do provide you with a small money card to help with food. During school they pay for lodging, transportation, and 3 meals (supposedly). I am set to go to the training at Trainco in Perrysburg, OH. They sent me there instead of Joplin because I am in Ohio. Will be leaving this Sunday for school!

Needless to say, nervous and excited...

However, one thing I found out just the other day, they are starting to put camera's in the trucks. According to the post they are both driver and road facing. When I asked my recruiter originally she stated there were none (about a week or so ago). However, this is a very recent change. She verified that there are camera's going into the tracktor's but unsure if they are just road or if they are road and driver facing. She has a email sent to the person that is heading the camera's so I can find out.

 

Has she gotten back to you on that yet? I just talked with a recruiter who also wasn't aware of any cameras.

 

The cameras are forward facing only - the driver facing camera is disabled. They only save and send the video when you have a severe enough incident to set them off or you press the button on the bottom of the camera.

 

.35 cents per mile.
At 2000 miles per week, that’s just $700 per week... before taxes and insurance; you’re probably realistically going to be clearing $500.00 a week, if even that.
And if you don’t get those 2000 miles, the pay is even less.
And how many hours will you spend working to get those 2000 miles per week?
New driver or not, your time is worth much more than that.
CFI is cheating you.

 

As far as I am aware, they aren't hiring part time driver's currently. Not sure where you got 2k miles from. Maybe you were thinking of a different company

 

2000-2200 miles per week is a pretty realistic, average amount of driving to be expected by most drivers.

 

It isn't average here. It would actually be pretty difficult to get miles that low. You'd have to really work hard at avoiding work.

 

There lubing you up for what comes next...

 

Not to mention where he will be after dispatch finishes reaming him a new one within a period of about 90 days with constant wait all day for dock drive all night to deliver and do it again next day, and again and again and again.

If he did hold it together for 90 days then he has to get through 6 months.

The most important word in english to trucking company is "No." Everything else out of your mouth (As a driver talking to dispatcher) is BS. excuses, meaningless, waste of dispatchers time etc. But they will absolutely hear that "No." echo through the Sinai Desert....
