His has the speaker behind your head. His console drops down and you see about 4 to 6 machine screws holding it in. You pop the wood trim off, separate the two sections and pull it out. Or you can stuff a small radio in and use the strap.

Cobra 25 or 29, uniden bearcat 880 packs a punch out of the box. Its fairly small, just run your own antenna and coax if you want range.

 

I had an 880, it lasted 6 months and quit getting out. 2 different cb shops said they wouldn’t touch it because it couldn’t be fixed.

 

Looks like you have good help. From the time my son was old enough to walk, he was with me. He's in his mid 40's now and he ain't lazy and knows he has to work. Time spent with your kids is never wasted time.

You just need a better tech. Uniden 66 or Cobra 25 would suit you fine. It probably was because of high swr on factory stuff. Digital type radios don't fare as well I think.

 

I know very little about CB stuff obviously, but except for how bright the lights are (I know, still have to find someone who can put a resistor or something to tone them down), I really like the way our little Road King CB works. I can't remember what number it is, but it's about like a Cobra 25.

I think that you've been smart and avoided a lot of problems that those " first adopters " of new technology have been plagued with. I applaud your wisdom and forbearance of wanting "the latest thing ". But I want to set the record straight, lest folks think that you can't be progressive once the newer technology has proven itself. Why, just last week you updated your house lighting system. Yep. It's true. No more of those old whale oil lamps in your house.
Now you've got those fancy kerosene wicker lamps. Hitting the big time now brother !

 

And I also want to stress about how you were correct for all those decades when you kept telling your kin that your Baker Electric Car technology was gonna make a comeback. That Elon Muskrat guy has proven you right with those Tesla cars.
Folks should quit doubting you now.
