I picked up a load from Kellogg’s in Ohio Friday afternoon to be delivered to Amazon in Kentucky Saturday morning. Was told by the broker (JB Hunt) that I could deliver early and arrived Friday night. Upon arrival I was told by Amazon that this load was due Friday morning and there fore was late and would have to be rescheduled. After repeated calls to JB was told that this would have to be delivered on Monday. So now I’m sitting in a Cincinnati Truck stop with a loaded trailer and unable to book a load out Monday because I don’t have an appt time. Repeated calls to JB and they won’t return my calls. I have no appt and have no clue of what I will be compensated. Do I have any recourse. Can I just shag ### home to Texas with the product and sell it. Can I truly be held hostage with no fair compensation. My guess is JB knew this load didn’t deliver until Monday and couldn’t move it if they didn’t set a Saturday delivery, but I can’t be sure.

No. They didn't "refuse the load". They refused to unload you at the time you arrived due to a missed appointment and told you to reschedule. If this happened on a weekend that wasn't one of the bigger holidays you probably would have been able to get hold of someone at JB. But they're all home hunting Easter eggs. Make the best of your time at the truck stop. You'll probably be there a few days. It's the way trucking goes sometimes. I got bent over like that on Christmas several years ago. It sucks.

Do not go to Texas or anywhere, do not sell that product. You would be in the Federal Pen before you know it. It's a busted appt time. Not a totaled load insurance thing. Settle in you will be there a few days.

Whoever failed to get you accurate information should not be allowed to do business with you again. Maybe call the customer directly next time to double check that appt time.

I actually got out of Kellogg’s early. My appt was for 6pm and was out of there by 5pm. Your right about them being Morons though. I finally got ahold of someone at JB and informed them I won’t deliver without a new rate con. It appears nothing can be done until tomorrow. It hasn’t been a total loss. It’s my wife and Mine anniversary, so we rented a car and are having a blast in Cincinnati. Will probably have to keep the rental and send my wife on home so she can make it back to work. It’s just frustrating and I needed some advise.

  7. you missed your appointment that's the bottom line.
it's also Easter it's a holiday weekend that's another thing you have to take into consideration.
enjoy Cincinnati but I prefer Skyline chili over gold Star chili just my opinion only

Never work on or near a holiday
If you do, get a rate so high if this crap happens, it's already accounted for.

Look on the positive side. You got a break. Maybe not the most welcome one, but a break nonetheless. Find some cool places to hangout around you, pickup a lady friend for drinks, go on a date, see a movie, workout, go for some long walks. Destress and enjoy, you'll be humping miles again in a few days.
