Both he, and the community will likely be better off for his resignation.

10 to 1 he's on another force within a month or 2 . Some redneck sheriffs would be proud to have him in their department .

You were putting innocent peoples lives in danger needlessly. If you were a true "Professional" Firefighter you would know the results of your actions. You should be ticketed and, if not kicked out of the dept, at least suspended!:biggrin_2551:

He didn't get fired but did resign on Wed. the 3rd. I agree he should have handled the ticket in another way but the football player should have still recieved the ticket for running the stop signs. He could have caused a real bad accident and was indangering other drivers lives by his actions and should be held accountable for that.

Calling me an idiot is a direct violation of site rules.

And you forget that where I live there is very very low population. Most of the time going to a call I would never see another vehicle. Where you live there is probably more population in one sq mile than there is here in 10 or 15 sq miles.
And for the record, just because my truck would go that fast doesn't mean I got any where close to that. Not on any regular basis.

Guess the truth hurts. You should know better. That is how the trucking industry got its bad image and the Volunteer Fire Depts. have the same issue.
If you sit down and figure it out. You actually don't save that much time on your response by sppeding and not to mention what would happen if you had a mechanical failure on your own vehicle.
Stranger things have happened. Just this week a Houston FD pumper T-boned a ladder going to the same call. All 9 crewmembers of the pumper were sent to the hospital. Not to mention the lady from the car that the ladder rolled over on and a lady on a bicycle is still critical.
You never know who is around or what is going to happen.

South eastern corner. Between Cheyenne and Pine Bluffs.

The department I was on covered 250 sq miles. Not more than 10 miles wide at its widest point but really long.
When I started driving OTR they asked me to step down.
