Pilot App Update

Long ago I used to fuel at pilot, flying j, etc... it was standard procedure to wait for everything from fuel to a shower to just buying junk food in the store. I run my own show now and don't put up with it anymore. It is rare I go to a major truck stop for more than a parking space and a free shower (friend shares card # doesn't use them anyway)... and I won't even risk going to the long list of places I have classified as Venus truck traps.... total waste of time.

All the big chains generally have the most expensive fuel anyway. I save about 10k a year I figure by using smaller stops. My card has discounts with independents and chains like sapp and kwik trip. Using these places is also a way more efficient use of my time.

 

Yup, same here. I always end up having to go inside and use a #### kiosk like it’s 1995. At first I thought it was a teething problem and they would most likely fix it, but it’s been two or three updates by now and nothing happened so far.

Also, when fueling in Canada I sometimes get “you are not authorized to do that” when I select diesel in the app. Never happens in the US, only in Canada.

I also hate how white and bright everything is now. The old dark design was much easier on the eyes in the darkness.

 

I lost my #### at pilot over the update. I drive mostly at night and I use the app to help expedite things as I only have a PFJ fuel card for the US atm.

I hate the new white theme, since driving at night a white screen is blinding, I preferred the dark screen. I called about it and was told, just change the settings on your phone or don't use the app. I told the guy on the phone.

" I love how large companies especially flying J have then mentality of, take what we give you or piss off, and they think it's okay." He said if I felt that way yada yada yada. He then said it was impossible for me to remove the update.

I removed the app, found an APK file online of the older app version, downloaded and installed, now I have my black screen back, so pilot can suck it.
