right, I've been there. For some odd reason Schneider chooses the worst places for drop yards and Ckarksville is no different.

I really don't understand some of our decisions. Like the "new" cedar rapids lot, I have a hard time imagining someone actually looking at it before we signed the lease.

Since late last summer. The northern bit is 3 feet higher than the southern bit. It's all loose sand except for the paved part you can see. The western half is unusable due to some kind of piping. The drop off doesn't leave enough space to effectively back on the northern row unless the ground is frozen. It's impossible to plow, twice this winter I have refused to even try going into the lot. The second time I got a dbl that wasn't mine who tried to persuade me to "just try and if we need to we can tow you out and I'll make sure it's not a preventable". My response was "If you want to pay me $20 and hour to wait for the tow truck, okay, otherwise pull the load". The next week I was back there and you could see several spots where drivers dug holes trying to get unstuck.

The best part? There is no real drive way. It flairs like a driveway, bu it's a hard curb onto cement. We've already started to crumble that curb so by this fall we will be blowing tires coming in and out.

scythe08, SingingWolf and 91B20H8 Thank this.

I remember running a goat path at night thru pa my first year. I was grabbing gears and running like the devil was behind me. A couple days later I went back down the same route, this time in daylight and realized that what I had thought was shoulder and ditch was really a cliff. Its easy to be bold when you don't know its dangerous.

I'll say this much though, that drop yard at the cereal place is bs. Blind side 45. Worked on it for 30 minutes and gave up. Found a much friendlier spot around the corner.

Any time I take an IP load to cedar Rapids I have to go to the drop yard to get an empty. Second to last time it was an ice rink and I had to use chunks of old pallet that was laying around to get out.
