This is for a week and two days. One of those I took off because I need to get home and I lost time with a OD load, but I got paid for it.
I just missed delivering my current load today by one hour. For some reason they shut down at 1430.
Other than my first load I have been given five or six choices, a variety of loads and delivering to different parts of the country.
I am not saying I have it all down yet, the idea is to run hard for three weeks, selecting the highest paying loads that will set you up for other high paying loads.
For the day I went home, there were load offers that would have kept me running, I selected on that would give me a chance to run home.
I did sit in Ocala, FL, waiting for a little over 24 hours. The load that I selected kept me running over the weekend.

Terry, I always enjoyed reading your threads about ham radios and TMC. Glad to see your back at it again and doing ok. Just found this thread and wanted to say BOL. Sounds like you have found your niche.
terrylamar Thanks this. -
Thanks, that wasn't me on the ham radios, must have been someone impersonating me.

Load #4)
Stroudsburg, PA to Sikeston, Mo.
Bounced 41 miles to swap required trailer.
180 miles to Shipper.
980 Miles to Consignee.
It is a single steel beam weighing 25,920 pounds.
1151 miles # $0.90
Tarp fee $35.00
FSC $153.09.
Total $1,223.99.
I picked it up on 4/01 for delivery on 4/03, I ran hard with a couple of other ATS drivers. I delivered on 04/02.
I had the same load offered earilier in the day, but was right in the middle of turning arround on a construction site road, holding up traffic. By the time I got turned arround and parked someone else has taken it.
I had one construction detour which added a few miles and forced me onto a toll road for about two miles that cost $16.75. I hate tolls.
After delivering this load I was offered one load that picks up on 04/04 at 2000. 378 miles bounce and 528 loaded miles. There is too much deadtime with this load. I decided to wait for offers later tonight or tomorrow morning. -
can you lease a truck from ats if you live in arizona. also how are the vans and reefers for getting miles
-
ATS hires from all 48 states. Give a recruiter a call and see what he says.
I cannot answer any quiestion about the van or reefer side. They are, actually, different companies.
There were four van drivers in orientation with me. They seemed to like what they were doing, although they hadn't worked for ATS yet.
Again, I would contact a recruiter and see what they say, or wait for someone else to come along with van/reefer experience.

I did flatbed before but I hated traping a load in the heat and rain and the snow did not bother me to chain it down just that darn tarp.
-
Just got off the phone with ats and they said they don't hire in Arizona for van or flatbed

You might call the general ATS number and ask for Holly or Jess. They have the power to make an exception. Of course you would have to give them a reason to make an expection. Maybe staying out longer than three week, a flawless driving record, an exceptional work history and a go get'em attitude. I don't know if it would work or not, but it won't cost anything to try.

terrylamar,
Good postings and thank you for posting your numbers. I hope you continue to do so as its valuable information for drivers. Also, any chance you could post some pics of your truck and loads?
