I'm opposed to almost all government intervention, but I think for safety had the government put the resources used in ELD implementation into entry level requirements, testing, and training we might be better off.

Back in the dark ages when I learned, the fellow that I was working for trained me and I didn't drive on my own for quite awhile.

Yes he did. The corner is a mile or so before the accident.

Probably needed all three lanes to make it through — or he was already using the shoulder.

I remember it specifically because it’s right after the final drop. Bunch of signs telling you that you’re not “done” yet and to stay geared down. It’s marked 45mph for anything over 26,000GVW. You basically drop right into a straight and then a left hander. And you’re on a downgrade all the way into town.

If your brakes are cooked there’s no where to put it.

Negative. I don’t have any photos from my training days. He had one of the few Freightliner Condos. Probably still has it for one more year.

I drive a neutered emissions truck so it’s on all of the time and no one would notice even if they stood next to it
