My guess is the last loads will be delivered, and the last few trucks will be brought in to the drivers' home terminals. Falcon's operational setup won't be leaving drivers stranded, since their drivers typically live very close to their home terminals. Any trucks delivering will most likely be deadheading back to home base on Monday.

This isn't an Arrow. NOBODY wants that level of bad press!

Why abandon it, point that sucker towards home, if there is fuel in the tanks.

    I don't think so.

“All Falcon Employees: We regret to inform you that Falcon Transport Co. is not able to continue operations and will be shutting down effective today. Please stop work you are doing for the company immediately. You are not expected to return to work. Please be on the lookout for further information we will be sending regarding the situation.”

Well then, I would drop the truck and trailer at my home terminal, unload the truck and go home.

They have waited until the last minute to tell drivers company has gone under.
Lemme guess CEO will get “golden parachute “ for the troubles.

well, for a lot of different reason; not least of which if you're not under dispatch, you've just stolen a truck. Second, whatever loss of job benefits you might have gotten due to the company going out of business, (severance, unemployment, pension, accrued vacation, readjustment training......etc) will be lost because you just quit your job.
It sucks, but that's the way that whole thing shakes out.

The company apparently has gone under, as in can't afford to continue on and finish their obligations, I wouldn't be to concerned about collecting severance pay, and I have never played the unemployment game myself. I have my doubts about being charged with stealing a truck that is assigned to you. I have had to pick up too many trucks that drivers were caught at scales at, when they were headed home, and they were just put out of the truck, never have I seen any charges filed..
That is my thinking anyway, I would not be hitch hiking while I had a ride full of fuel under me.

never said anyone had to hitchhike, but it makes more sense to wait a day or two to see how it shakes out.

While true, remember that Falcon is a mostly regional deal. There will be no new runs sure, but the few that are out may or may not be working. Again my point is simply don't jump the gun. If no word by tomorrow or at worst Tuesday afternoon, then yea, bobtail home.
