I had the air dog on my 06 de-acert engine. Only thing I noticed was smoother idle. Plus I could fill up filters by just turning the key on and let it run for a few before starting. Plus I had a fitting plumbed up to run fuel in a jug if need be.

I believe it. On my 379, according to the Teltek fuel pressure gauge which bounces a bit, about the max I get is 41 lbs., and when pulling hard it will pull down around 25 lbs.
@rank , I'll run out and take a picture of where I plumbed my gauge in. If you put a mechanical gauge in you will want a snubber in the line to calm the pulsation down a bit. Maybe Wore Out has already explained it as I haven't read to the end of the posts yet.Al. Roper, sawmill, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 14 others Thank this. -
I use an aeromotive A1000 marine electric pump. Flows up to 800 gallon per hour and 95 max psi. Out of it I have a regulator that returns used fuel, set at 48 psi.
They may not do much for a gear style pump like E models, Detroit, and Cummins use. I do know it made a big difference on my old B -

I agree, had this argument 24 years ago. I wanted to feed a big cam with psi. I was told in a polite way this was less the smart! You know what I mean. We had blocked of the stock base, mounted 1212 on frame. Had 1 inch crimped fitting supply, 7/8th crimped returns. Tanks right behind the steers for short lines. Pops had other tricks to lighten and heavy the steers, fuel weight didn"t matter. Now on my Detroit my idea like your is to get the fuel to the pump let the pump work from there forward. The 5 micron is so much cleaner, and helps the injectors in the long run. Just so restrictive. The other thing I preach is to look at your fittings, I don't care how big the line, if there is a reducer, or adapter that is smaller its killing you. Most don't take that time to look at them.
Thanks Wore, always good garage chat.Al. Roper, sawmill, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 14 others Thank this.
