Going to Put Down $5,000 Down on Truck on 4-5 year old truck. ( Next Year ).
    Between $40,000-$60,000.....
Save $15,000 SAVED for Any Emergencies or Major Break Downs !
And have ANOTHER $10,000 in Credit Card for EMERGENCIES !
In My 17 Years of Driving and I've SEEN some of Those Repair Bills !
    That's WHY ? I'm being CAUTIOUS !
I THINK ? This should be ENOUGH for at Least the First Year !
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any CONSTRUCTIVE Advice is Appreciated !

Also I've heard Stories from BOTH SIDES about getting a WARRANTY ?

Being The CAUTIOUS Person that I am and KNOWING that BREAK DOWNS WILL HAPPEN !

    I would get it !

But it seams the More People I've asked thru the Years : Most have said ? : DON'T !

For all sorts of Different Reasons !

What's Your Opinion ? : Keep on Truckin'......

Do you need a newer truck????
You would be better off buying a $5,000 and having $15,000 saved to repair it.
    Pre 2003 truck no emissions.

    Save more money.

You will need at least a minimum of 90 days operating cash for the truck, better to be at 6 months.
Have a house or other place? what about the expenses for that.
Best to have at least 6 months expenses covered.
Really since your self employed, a year is better.
Want to take a nice vacation? Where do you want to go? How long would you like to stay? How much is it going to cost, plus pay all the other expenses, you have that much cash available?

    @Miami Trucker.
I have been driving 10 years and I can tell you that the new trucks are not made to be useful more than 5 years at most.
    But you should know that.

He read all the fairy tales about taking
5 months off a year and making 200 grand.
Not the truth about a 90 percent failure
    Rate in the first year.
Let him learn the hard way.

    HoneyBadger67 and Intothesunset Thank this.
