So when you get crazy and just dont wanna light your wallet on fire for 5 seconds of fun and dont care how long a Diesel engine lives. You push all the fuel you can in it. Then control a injection of methanal/water mix. One it brings EGT's down, and since water dont compress it raises compression ratio. This is for deep pockets traveling 300 foot at a time.

My old Pete come with a 79 big cam Cummins.
It ran and pulled pretty good. 5mpg in the winter and up to 6 in the summer. Needed one eye on the pyro on any halfway decent pull. Water temp was never an issue.
I put oversized injectors, turbo and went through the pump. Kta fuel filter head and oversized lines. Dual fuel line to the front head.
She will spank stock 425's and give a good 550 a run for it's money.
Like any big cam it likes the rpm's and as long as I keep it above 1,800 will pull all day long without needing to back out do to head temp. It really could use a higher performance rad as that's the limiting factor on long pulls now.
Fuel mileage didn't change any that I could tell.
But the drastic drop in head temp I wasn't expecting at all.
I figure the heat is getting blown out the exhaust now instead of getting soaked up in the heads.

When did it change. What about a exhaust restriction. New/old mufflers? Seen old mufflers fall apart inside and cause a restriction.
