I prefer green over red, but will sure eat red if green isn't available. Whichever one I eat, I want some punch to it, and not tomato paste with bell peppers and onion.

    Sheesh. Ain't it the truth.

I just mail order everything from Macs or Dennis Carpenter any more. If I can't wait, I find my own part numbers before going to NAPA. They usually have what I want, I just have to look everything up mydamself. There used to be an old guy NE of Atlanta that was the go-to for shoebox parts. He was in his 80's ten years ago, I think he's at least retired if he's even still alive. The experts on these things are a dying breed.

It doesn't help that I favor original equipment for my "projects." My Ford still has the flathead v8 3 speed on the tree, still runs 6V +gnd electrics with a generator and breaker point regulator.

If the driver I hired a couple weeks ago gets less needy, I may be able to resume the headers and clutch/transmission project that's been stalled out for 8 yrs.

Yea, try going to Freightliner for parts on a 20 yearold classic. Most of the kids there aint even that old.

I commend you and @OLDSKOOLERnWV for the originality on your treasures.

Y'all might wanna take a gander at the " 49 Pete log load " thread. That's some heavy haul lumber.

A requirement before stepping out of Colorado is stopping for a breakfast burrito at Santiago's. 15565459117294471075355008964972.jpg

Thanks. I'm just a hack compared to OldSkooler.

RE old FL parts. Been there done that got a drawer full of t-shirts. The day my 99 Century went away was a celebration.

Before that, the first truck I ever bought was an early 04 Century. If you been down that path before, you'll know there was about a 6 month run of those trucks where they were changing over from the 12.7 to 14L and had a bridge assembly. Many of the common parts were unique to that short range of serials, never in stock, and took a week to get anything.

On the positive side, if I had to make some rookie mistakes at least I didn't end up with a Maxxforce or SDP Cat.

Even plastered with spring snow it still looks great SAR!

Spit a few flakes here yesterday, and the wind has been miserable, but I was still able to mow the lawn.
