I dislike going to the chain parts houses anymore, especially if it's for projects that I can plan ahead on. I just look for the parts online and order 'em.

There's a Mom' n Pop store here in town that has one guy who can find you just about anything. He actually has and will break out old parts catalogs instead of relying on the computer and asking "manual or automatic"

I wouldnt trade my Classic with a 12.7l for much. Now in the future I would either gut mine to transplant it into a FL/W900A. Or build a big cam. Im not going newer. I hear you on the Centerys and Columbias. Worked on a bunch of them piles. The fricken interior door panels, The 99/00 that had the A/c apads unit mounted up and behind the right front steer. Whoever was responsible for that should have been beaten slowly.

Trying to get parts for my old stuff. I ask for the oldest grey haired guy in the place. The kids behind the counter generally comply.

Pro tip: NAPA still has books. Quickest way to get something you can't already bring a part number for, is ask for the "Buyer's Guide" for whatever line of parts you need. It's a picture book you can visually match stuff up with. At least if they don't have what you need in stock, you can web search the NAPA part number for a cross reference somewhere else.

Last time I did that it was for a starter relay. I had to match up a picture and decipher the internal wiring to get the right one. The listing indicated it fit some kind of farm tractor. Which is actually kind of common for cars of that era and earlier. Since I was at the regional distribution center, they amazingly had one in stock.

We are right at the freezing mark currently.
I wish it was in rain form but this will work. Id rather see this moisture then the dirt blowing around. The wind was terrible yesterday.

This made me giggle, and tells me you're no poser LOL. Last wild goose chase I had was door latch/lock hardware of all things. The one freaking thing that always breaks and parts are discontinued. I had to fabricate a solution. Yes the build quality on the classic is far superior to the disposable cab used on Centuries and Columbias. I rode with a guy in a 90's classic and it was worlds apart.

That fricken sealed APADs, would get wet and log about 500 codes in the ECM. First one I think I had smoke coming out of ears trying to figure it out. Just to unplug and Ecm went to normal. Then to re plum it with normal pressure sensors and wiring harness. I still want this guys name.

@RedForeman Well of course lets mold the GD piviot for the interior handle into the door panel! Seems like a grand idea, nothing could go wrong, right!
