It says that Walmart has changed their focus and is now starting to rely on their own private fleet drivers instead of using outside carriers. In other words; after the disaster with the changes Walmart tried to make last year with their Fleet Drivers; they have decided to reverse course and reinvest in them again!

For the real inside scoop on what's really happening at WM I listen to all the guys on the Interwebs that dont work here, but know all the inside scoop before we even do. Cuz you know they were right about everything they said before oh wait, nevermind.

I refreshed the page a few times and it wound up letting me read it for free. It also says they are piloting hauling their own containers from the rail yards to cut down on that third party as well

 

Friend of mine that just quit told me before he left that he’d heard they’re cutting even more 5 day spots.

No t a 180 though...driver pay is going to be cut in small increments so as to not cause a big incident. Before summer there will be another round of layoffs in the dispatch offices as drivers start carrying the load that they did for us. Dwell time is about to become a priority according to the grass roots meetings, so, look for that to hit us.
