Everyone is always saying the herd needs culled. What better opportunity for that to happen? I bet out of the millions of loads brokered weekly, not a single broker / agent has a gun to anyone's head that accepts the rate.

Times certainly are changing. I believe the logistics business of today will be obsolete 10 years from now.

Wouldn’t haul a lick of the window licking cheap amazon freight but got to admit I’m all about the prime guaranteed 2 day shipping shopping from the couch.. guess I owe a thanks to some of you drivers who are dumb enough to haul that cheap crap and keep that stuff showing up to the doorstep two days later..

You'll pay for it eventually if you aren't already. Their end game is to own and control everything from start to finish. No competition for them higher prices for you. I'm pretty sure their pockets are deep enough and the legal team smart enough that anti-monopoly regulations relevant to the Standard Oil or Carnegie Steel era of a 100+ years ago do not affect them.

Just wonder how many times have you seen a product that was offered on Amazon as both Prime and non-Prime with the Prime being a little more expensive? And so naturally you just choose Prime because, well you paid your membership and you want it in 2 days instead of 5 or however many. Eventually there wont be any choices. No chance to comparison shop at all. But you'll have your overpriced junk in a day so who cares, right?

I've been giving my online business to other retailers lately, online and in store. My Prime Membership expires in a few mos.

I won't be renewing it and will be closing my Prime credit card. No sense in supporting (with my dollars) an entity that wants to slit my throat.

Besides, their 2 day shipping deal and pricing isn't really all that hot anymore.

Same here Scooter we're ditching it also. Prime sucks because it's only Monday thru Friday. And they raised the annual membership. Wal Mart offers the same service for no fee. Wal Mart had this same sort of backlash 20 years ago everyone hated Wal Mart for trying to kill all competition and take over the world.

Yeah, it's like drug dealers who get you hooked by you giving you good deals on the first few transactions, then after you're hooked, they're pimping you out on the street corner LOL

That's exactly how I feel about their freight brokerage side too.

They're pimping these guys out who will prostitute themselves out at $1.20 a mile. Guys running their arses off from one hit of crack to another.

    While I'm at it...LOL

That goes for these lease ops who are doing the same thing for these megas. Some of them doing it in the name of "learning the business side".

That's like a hooker saying she does tricks on the street corner for $25 so she can learn how to have sex! LOL

Now, this perspective is in reality, only my humble opinion.
