Smart money says you get an offer.
If so get in asap in case they have a few hires
Don't know if that location is union but even if it's not seniority counts.

    What is a PPS driver?
It lists requirement of being able to operate a sleeper truck but also says home most nights?
Lists 3 terminal locations for the same job - just linehaul from terminal to terminal?

Other job listing just say "truck driver" - how do you tell apart the different types of driving jobs they offer?
Seems as though some jobs they mention the "elite" cadre & have stricter requirements.

What does the "rotating schedule" usually involve?
What does a standard full time driving job week look like?

All very confusing to an outsider/potential new hire.

Looking at jobs in the Baton Rouge,LA area

    Cheers

Link the job here if you can.
    Might be praxair services.
They travel to different sites where the product is used for a project.
Might be a couple days or a month.
Hard to say. If they tell you you'll be home nightly I don't think it's that job.

You would be supplying liquid to psi and ppd remote jobs.
Maybe a refinery or military or nuke/coal plant that is having their annual maintenance or a repair/upgrade done.
Typically away from a seperation plant so you would drive to a px or competitors plant and fill and drive back to project to unload.

The rotating schedule is on all job listings, on ours it means annual bid for start time.

You would have to ask what constitutes "most nights"

I just filled w a psi guy from NJ who has been out here 3 wks. Good money and a room each night but not my intrest at this point.
If you're looking for a get home daily gig look for the word "bulk" it signifies trlr load to customers.

Excellent thank you for the detailed explanation!

I am preferably looking to transition to a home daily job so I will keep a lookout for the "bulk" jobs.

Are the regular "truck driver" jobs that seem to imply delivering bottles to customers any good/home daily?

I'm open to pretty much any good local driving jobs in the Baton Rouge LA area in the near future, life changes have forced my hand if you know of any other recommendations/companies.

I continue to keep tabs on Praxair, Air products, Linde, Nalco, Univar, Brenntag, etc as well as the LTL's, but not very familiar with the tank industry much.
Also wonder if fuel hauling is worth it in that area, guessing most jobs would be non union.

Seven yrs OTR, clean record, all endorsements, TWIC, hazmat experience with everything but class 7, no experience with tanker though.

    Cheers

In a tough market like now we are offering up positions to exp drivers w/o tank experience.
You'd go thru approximately 6 wks of training.
Follow through on the process and get qualified,.
If the position offered doesn't suit you just tell them that. At least you're in the system for future opportunities.

I know Airgas is currently building a BAG plant in the southeast metro (Mpls/StPaul) area.
Scheduled to go online late next year w the need for approximately 25 drivers.
No news yet as to workforce i.e. whether they would be Airgas or Ruan (who does some accounts) employees.
Would be a opportunity to get in on ground floor for a long term career opportunity.
