Call corporate and see how they treat you. If they are going to take care of you then let them do it and dont worry about the police. IMO I would not submit it to your insurance. Just take care of it off the books.
If corporate doesn’t treat you right then get the footage and threaten to file a hit and run, that ought to change their tune. I like to give people an opportunity first to do the right thing, and if they don’t then ratchet up the pressure accordingly.

Settle it without insurance if you can. Even if you have to take a little less than the $1500. If you go through your Ins you will likely have a loss in your loss run. What’s your deductible?
-
Call Corp first and see how far they bend over for you... Never know they might already be lubed up from the last guy... Its worth a shot..
Lumper Humper Thanks this. -
Going by what you are saying, no one is denying it and it sounds like they will work with you. NO way would I ever think about opening a claim with my insurance for 1500 bucks or even twice that.
It has been my experience that construction companies pay for this kind of damages without any hassle.rank and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -

Get the video, before it disappears.
I would work with the construction company without filing a claim or hit and run. The driver has admitted his fault.
I'm surprised you didn't see the damage before you left.
A quick walk around your truck before you left.
I know, I know. In a hurry, time is money.
I may have done the same as you, if it was a company truck.
Just asking.
Why file a claim with your insurance?
File a claim on theirs.
If they don't commit to repairs on Monday, then proceed with hit and run, and file a small claims for repair.
Why have the claim filed on your policy.
I would pay out of pocket twice the amount for repairs before I filled a claim on my policy.(I'm not sure how the claim process works for your insurance)
Good luck and keep notes or recordings of who said what, when. -
If you dont know what your ded. is, you will know after you file a claim? It could be 5,000$$
-
I do not have collision. I could not make a claim on my insurance, if I wanted to.
-
You should get footage sooner. Hotels surveillance system may not have that much memory to hold it till Monday.
rank Thanks this. -
How good is the customer? Do you want to go to battle and lose this customer? If answer to number 2 is no then I'd go easy and work with them. If you don't mind losing them the for sure pull out the hammer
