    That’s what I was told about LA/San Diego area. A few drivers get the good paying loads the rest will do shorties from port/rail yard.
    I don’t need 70 hours work week neither.
    I haven’t seen any posts from happy company drivers on here.
    Banker is happy there, but he is O/O. Would like to see some posts from company drivers.

    I work with more happy company drivers now than I did at Jack Cooper. We are at a short haul railhead and the guys that make the money run 2 loads a day. I usually do about 1.5 a day. Deliver 2 or load 2, but never load and deliver 2. Not everything is always sunshine and roses, but that is carhaul for you. Even union guys at short haul railheads have to run 2 loads a day to make money. That is just the nature of the beast. Short freight carhaul work definitely isn’t for everyone.When I ran to Memphis I normally had to load south towards Canton to get a good load back north. Some people who hire in think they are going to walk in the door day one and get the best work and that usually doesn’t happen most places. It didn’t work that way for me, but it works better the longer I am here. Some days you still have to take one for the team.

    Oh yeah, Canton is a #### hole terminal as well. Better bring your kneepads going into the office there as well. If no one believes me, give it a go. And they can keep thier ####ty 1 star hotels you have to stay in down there in Canton as well. $75 dollar limit is a ####ing joke out on the road

    I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have never gone in to Canton that I didn’t load right back past the house. Some of the southern drivers are scared to death of a straight hit to Ohio in the winter. Their freight is big but pays well on my truck. I don’t worry about hotel costs but the Holiday Inn Express just north of the plant was a reasonable and nice place to stay. I saw company rigs in there about every time I have been there. I don’t claim to have the same experience that anyone else does. I do tend to look at the long term big picture, something that 5 months might not have got you. My first 5 months at Hansen certainly weren’t as good as my last several years have been.

    Hansen is really what u make of it I currently run out of Vance al. Started running out of smyrna tn neither terminal micromanage the drivers. Just do your job load and unload cars I'm home few nights during the week and every weekend. The 75 dollar limit they give you if you find a room that's more than 75 which you will just call the after hours number they will add more money. Canton is not the best terminal but wherever you are trying to go they will at least get you in that direction if they got it . You had a bad exp during your time running out of Memphis but the two terminals I have ran out of has been great. Is Hansen perfect no but if you stay loaded and hustle you can make money.
