Are you justified in what? Sounds like you're a difficult person to deal with. At some point people decide the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Perhaps your current employer has reached that point.

What is the attorney going to do to improve your situation? Also are you financially prepared to go down that road? Been a while, but the last time I needed an attorney the final bill was north of $60k, and we didn't even go to trial.

From my experience, the drive cams are only a problem if the company using them is a problem. I've been with 3 companies that used cameras. One had driver facing and outward facing and would ridicule you for any and every little thing they caught. The other two companies only used outward facing cameras. One used the camera ONLY for when accidents occured. The other one would use it to "correct" bad drivers. But to be honest they were very lax about it. They would only use it againdt the drivers that were constantly setting it off and also constantly having complaints called in on them. I never once was called in for a review in my 3 years working there, and I will tell you that I had a few times where I set it off because of something idiotic I did. But it was very rarely they would ever catch me doing something idiotic so they never made a deal about it.

I think eventually every carrier will have cameras. Just depends on if the company abuses them or not.

Anyone here know the big common carriers around Atlanta? I'm thinking of moving there. Keystone Petro is the only one I've seen but not much info on them. Not interested in loves or pilot, tbh.

So far, Pilot and this other company, Flying Star(they service a lot of Stripes stores) were the only one's that gave me a ring/email first. Again, the reason for not ultimately getting on with them were my doing. Not prepared to move and head out to start working with them in a timely manner.

I guess one thing I've got to start realizing when applying with any of these companies is to treat them with some amount of enthusiasm. I go in and fire away an application like nothing's going to happen. And then all of a sudden, I get a mysterious call from someone who isn't "trying to collect". All I know is that sticking with the same spot for much longer isn't going to reap any further rewards. Going on three-plus years and the ceiling has been bounced against.

@Dick Danger I'm not sure how you got "difficult person" out if what I've said. Perhaps I have not made myself clear. In general I give them clean drops every night, I do not refuse loads, I comply within legal boundaries and give them an efficient amount of work each night. I have also stuck by them after several drivers quit. To answer another members comment--theyre an awful outfit. They were on a downward spiral when I began and have only gotten worse. I stuck it out and figured one more year would not kill me.
Jamming the fill with a broken yard stick IS against saftey and regulation. We are instructed not to do so. We signed our names to new company policy stating we would not. I have an automated call record and have had one since before I joined the company. Dispatch and drivers alike are aware this is something I do with my calls. Part of our policy states if the load does not fit to carry over which as the driver is what i was trying to communicate with the guy they plucked out of chuck-e-cheese to be dispatch. I was hoping to leave the company with a clean slate but by trying to follow company policy I'm now under scrutiny for not cutting corners and will probably suffer loss of hours. Out of the many drivers they have snatched out of gas stations across the island I am one of the few that has no cross drops, no spillage and no accidents. If the only reason they have for me "not being worth the squeeze" is that I wont break regulation and am willing to follow the policy they had me sign and date that should be considered satisfactory at the least. However I will not be steamrolled and taken advantage of.
To clarify, you think I'm not justified in taking this any further than consulting a lawyer?
Fair enough, I was looking for rounded answers.

You sound reasonable enough. But when the company sucks it will fling some of their poo on you just by being around. You had the knowledge that they sucked and stayed, that's where the problem is.

I mean you made an issue out of something that we all have to deal with on a regular basis. I was told 2 weeks ago to exceed the 100% ullage of a tank. And not by my dispatch, but by a major oil company. Exceeding 90% and sticking the flapper valve open is not uncommon. And doing that is way easier than popping a dome lid, sticking your truck, and getting the strapping chart out. F all that. Sometimes you just gotta lick the stamp and send it.

Exactly right. We got a reduction in our insurance for the forward facing cameras. We could have had a bigger reduction with the driver facing rigs.
We didn't see any point to it. It's like telling the drivers, most of whom are old hands and good at what they do and have been with us for years, that we don't trust them.
If we couldn't trust them they wouldn't be here in the first place.
The forward facing camers just make sense in this day and age. There was some grumbling to start with but I noticed four of the worst grumblers have them in their personal cars now.
