If you are planning to be an O/O with no exp. pulling cans, you'll be in for a rude shock. Specific equipment, insurance, membership requirements, specific rules, dealing with brokers, forwarders, Chinese and Arab forwarders, oh, and make sure you have deep pockets for all those tires you'll be buying that will never be reimbursed.

Lots of little rules that are involved, lots of issues, rules and procedures that sometimes change depending on the ramp managers mood.

Nowadays most are riveted in, at some ramps and pools, popping one out to replace it is grounds for a permanent ban.

Truck in my avatar is 4 yrs old, still looks as clean as the day the picture was taken, except it now has a stainless bumper, hauls cans every day.

I know this comment is late..but..there was this one guy at the rail yards in Cleveland..his drivers door must not open or work..he would jump out the passenger door to hook or drop..this went on for months. Each to his own, I guess.
