toughnight's story has no relevance. Just some guy boasting about his cab over. I personally have never seen one of the units work. I've tried to get them started they just suck in a full sleeper 70" to 72". Sometimes the system would blow air out the front vents on the dash instead of the rear vents in the bunk area. I agree with most that it's a POS. I would rather have either an APU, or just the basic ESPAR bunk heater equipped. I think opti-idle is ok, but now you just run the truck periodically through the the night. You know that the driver won't drain the tanks.

There ya go! I don't have the Parksmart stuff, but I do have a Xantrex inverter/charger. I use a Yamaha EF2000 portable that rides in its own frame rail box. I remove a couple panels from the box and the generator runs right inside the box. I just run a short cord from it to the shore power hookup for the inverter/charger.

Parksmart is a terribly designed system, it would be wiser to invest in the new TriPac from ThermoKing. I’ve had to be jumped a few times when the ParkSmart didn’t stop when the batteries were drained too low. Not only is it expensive to have roadside come jump your rig in the middle of someplace that has no nearby truck repair, it also eats into your time to make delivery.

Lots of bad "reviews" here about ParkSmart, but it's been about 2 years since the last post. Does anyone with a 2018 or 2019 Cascadia and the ParkSmart system have anything to say about it now? Is it any better these days?

I never thought to check back. My problem was a bad wire harness on the 16 I had. When it worked my park smart was good. I still prefer a diesel apu though current truck has thermo king it has better cooling capacity for sure.

We have a 2017 and it’s a PIECE OF ####. AC NEVER blows cold. Causing electrical issues elsewhere. Eats through batteries like they are lollipops, melts all the harnesses and cables. It’s effing ridiculous, and I’m tired of being hot. And that’s IF you can even get the fan to come on to begin with. We have an appointment with our APU guy. Gonna try to take the whole thing off and put a diesel APU on it.
