21 years smoke free. The urge is still there. Earlier this year I puffed on a cigar for a celebration. It was disgusting. But the urge is there.

20+ years for me. To me it stinks, but every now and then I'll catch just a little drift of smoke and it does smell good. And every now and then I find myself reaching for that shirt pocket where that pack used to be.

Loadassisen understands the whole concept here. In your own truck, or your own house- as long as there are no children there- you can smoke 10 packs a day; it’s nobody's business. Your American constitutional freedom. But in company trucks, or hotel rooms, where other people have to come in behind you, it’s a nuisance and the owner has the right to prohibit it.

I would pay a smoking deposit for a carrier. Most already charge Dog deposit.
Heck I pay non refundable deposit.

I don't smoke never have never will..

If I was picking between this company and another company that didn't have the no smoking policy guess which one I would pick.

    I don't see the problem it's their truck(s).
And it seems like they're pretty clear on that rule.. not like they told you after the fact

    I quit in November 2001
    Still smells good to me
I find the militant quitters annoying
For some reason the cherry cigar smell in a truck makes me sick
Our company quit assigning smokers to new trucks
At the safety meeting one of the owners said the state of Oregon has people going to our remote locations to see how many trucks are smoked in
They have decals on the doors saying no smoking but the state looks in the window
If I was still smoking I believe I would not be driving and i have friends who have passed away
