They should just abolish ALL drug laws, and let natural selection run its course.

It’s still goes on with alcohol. Get caught crossing state lines with more than a personal consumption amount, and see what happens to you. Not only that but prohibition was only repealed at the federal level. Their are still states with “dry county’s” where it’s still illegal to buy sell or possess alcohol. Personally, I couldn’t care less if people smoke dope or not, but I do take exception to the way states are passing illegal laws contrary to the federal narcotics laws. If they would have changed federal law first, then I’d have no problem with it.

Technically the feds have no business in it as the constitution was written. You can't get the federal overlords to agree on anything now days. Which is a good thing if you ask me.

Every year the feds pass laws contrary to the constitution, and laws that are contrary to existing laws that they previously passed. The most obvious, and publicized would have to be gun laws. They are not just protected by the constitution, but are one of the first ten amendments which make up the bill of rights, which where intentionally, and specifically carved in stone to be taken literally, and protected from modification. But if you really wanna piss yourself off, look up the original social security act. It goes to great lengths to restrict the use of your SSN number, and explicitly prohibits its use as a tracking number, or identifier for any reason except social security related matters. It made merely asking someone for their number a crime. Now days, you can’t get a loan, get utilities turned on or much more than order a pizza without surrendering this number.

In the computer industry there is a saying "Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM." Doesn't matter how much it costs, if something goes wrong there will be less fallout than if the same people bought from say Dan's garage computers, llc.
I'm sure most industries have that one heavy player in the field. For earth movers It's Cat.
