Its a 10 speed. The reason all the megas used 10s before autos took off is because even a newbie can't destroy them. Obviously nothing is breakdown proof in a truck, but an eaton fuller 10 is the closest you will find to indestructible.
The 14l detroit is a fantastic engine. Tho 07 is terrible for the emissions garbage on it. Funnything... I've worked on a few 12.7 and 14l egr detroits and all that emissions stuff wasnt there. Cough cough hint hint.

You could get it tuned out by Leon or Erich. And there is an ugly fix which is basically a resistor fooling the computer making it thinks it’s in high elevation and the egr won’t function. More than one way down Main Street as my friend says.Oxbow, SAR, jamespmack and 18 others Thank this.

I guess I ain't seen a trailer with a Z spring style suspension like that. I would think it would be more likely to break than say Hendrickson HT series with a solid beam.
What's that brand of suspension?Oxbow, SAR, jamespmack and 15 others Thank this. -
Itd fall off in due time. Was reading of early 14s not having egr and wasnt sure what I'd have to do to remove it and I know we arent allowed to talk about that here so yeah.
I had heard of the ugly fix. If tuned out do I just leave the stuff on the engine.
I'm not sure if they are or arent, I havent ran a truck with just egr so I cant speak on that either.Oxbow, jamespmack, 1951 ford and 11 others Thank this. -
Yes, the computer would just command it shut. You wouldn’t have to change any parts.
I think they are headquartered in North Carolina. My dad went by there and they might have been out of business now that you mention it. Wouldn’t be hard to make one I don’t think.Oxbow, SAR, jamespmack and 15 others Thank this. -
