Thanks Peanut and everyone else for the kind words, and good luck to us all in this economy. I will hang out but might not be on as often. This a great site with a wealth of info.

Corncob I am from Camden County and yes I always see lots of tri-axles around this way and heard lots always looking for drivers with decent records. I already put in for one, they pay by the load which I am not crazy about but I won't be picky I heard hourly is better. A neighbor around the corner has his own tri-axle and he been doing it since I was a kid, so I got some advice from him, seems he only makes abut 30k a year after he done paying everything.

As for TMC well I got my final check and they did deduct some extra things, but overall isn't that bad. For my little scatch/dent it was $168.44, and they also got me for $68.00 for drug screen and phyiscal for a total of $238.94, (pre-pass fee in there too). So I won't complain about that. Just makes a small paycheck even smaller,,,lol. Hopefully that will be all they try to get me for.

BTW just so all you TMC guys who are quitting/fired know. TMC will put something on your DAC so be sure to get a copy of it. They removed what they put on my DAC without putting up any fight at all. I used www.dacfix.com. A little pricey but worth it in the end. The people there do this for a living and I guess TMC wanted no part of messing with them:)

If you don't mind me asking what did they put on it, and how much did it cost to get it removed? Was there a shred of truth to it or was it a total fabrication?

Sorry to hear you finally left TMC but you gotta do whts best for you. I'm sure they gave you all kinds of reason you needed to stay just like they tried to use on me. Bottom line is we're all working to make money and we have to go where the money is. I'm sure you'll find something soon if you haven't already. Have you heard anything from 3010? Any of the other drivers who went through oreintation with us?

Uhh.. They diddn't put anything on my DAC. And, fyi, you can do the same thing that those dac fix services do for free. Usis still has to abide by the fair consumer reporting regulations or whatever they're called. I think any company that fixes your DAC or your credit report are nothing but a ripoff scam that prey on people who are intimidated by these jerks.

With everything you know now do you regret going with TMC or just trying otr altogether? Would you still recommend them to new guys? Cplmac2, how is it going for you?

I personally don't have any ill will or regrets towards TMC. They are not for everyone though, they do have a certain way about them that a lot people have a problems with during orientation and they do have some shady practices. Timing was just bad for me in my personal life and in trucking being so slow now. If I was making better money I might have stayed on.

I think maybe in a year or more I might give another shot to OTR maybe even TMC again if they have me back. But also been thinking of getting into another career all together, I am almost 40 so might be time for a change.

I agree with the shady practices that Firna alluded to, but right now I'm on my second 2000 mile plus load in as many weeks so at least as a matter of getting miles I can't complain. It would be better if I was making more than .30cpm, but I'm happy because I'm getting to see the country. Aside from the known shenanigans they pull with your paycheck mine has been there and as best I can tell accurate. I'm not a fan of being paid on Tuesdays but that's a pretty small nit to pick. Still to early for me to give a thumbs up or down but at the very least I'm moving freight which ultimately is the goal.

Yes I could have taken care of the dac thing myself but simply didn't have the time. As far as what tmc listed on my dac no there was no truth to it. Just because you are at orientation does not mean you are employed there. That could probably be argued all day long but thats simply the way it is. They also left it open ended as to imply it was something I had done which caused them to let me go.
