Truck driving is the perfect occupation for a successful serial-killer.
He remains mobile and anonymous for a long time. Different Law Enforcement Agencies seldom cooperate.
Look at Ted Bundy, he left bodies in several Jurisdictional areas from Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Colorado and Florida.
There HAVE been suspected serial-killing truck drivers in the past.
Gary Ridgeway, the GREEN RIVER KILLER was a truck driver.
Bruce Mendenhall,: truck driver; implicated himself in 6 murders. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/12/serialkillings.suspect/index.html
Billy Ray Ballard: truck driver; convicted of mulitple murders in Montana and Wyoming.
Scott Williard Cox: truck driver; convicted of multiple murders, suspect in others.
Kieth Jesperson: truck driver; confessed to eight murders in five states.
Robert Ben Rhodes: truck driver; convicted of murder, suspect is others. Had a "torture" chamber set up in his sleeper and admitted to keeping "victims" confined for WEEKS until he tired of them.

    List goes on.

HOWEVER; it does no more bring shame and derision to truck drivers as "suspected" serial killers than it does to any other industry, such as the Construction Industry, whose preeminent serial killer was the infamous (now dead) John Wayne Gacy.

With every cloud, there's a silver lining.

Just think about how many people won't #### with truck drivers anymore, out of fear. :biggrin_255:

I suppose trucking would be a profession a serial killer might choose due to the availability of transient victims. Yet my hunch is that there are many more serial killers in cubicles than trucks. Those sickos just might have to murder less frequently due to fewer opportunities.

    Disturbing stuff nonetheless!

That may be true, but you guys and gals out there on the road, can turn a negative into a positive, by keeping your eyes and ears open and reporting any suspicous activity and helping out law enforcement. Some may feel like they're "ratting out" one of their own, but this would definately be an exception. The beltway killer might not had been captured if it wasn't for a trucker that blocked his car and called the law.

Homeland Security has cancelled the highwaywatch program, I believe. That type of program would seem like a good thing to have w/ truckers keeping an eye out for crime on and around the road system. The whole prostitution industry is ready made for sociopaths to take advantage of, however. It's very difficult to control and make safe but something should be done to eliminate this problem. Not only overt sociopathic violence but it's a world-wide phenomenon as well with professional drivers and prostitutes spreading diseases like AIDS on every continent.

That is one of my favorite movies. Full of action, some humor and suspense. My kind of movie. Paul Walker is kind of cute too. Shhh, don't tell my husband I said that.
