Yall may already have it worked out but in the thermostat housing is a 2 wire temp switch. One side of it has power from the fuse box with key switch on. The other side usually has 2 wires one to fan solenoid the other is from the high pressure switch on A/C. When it gets to 200 the switch closes and sends power to the solenoid. The A/C ties in there just cause it was a handy way to get the fan to work without a splice.

Shouldn't be hard to figure out why with a test light now the where could be a different matter lol.
