2004 isx egr cm870 Cummins oil pressure low

    Cummins 2004 isx egr cm870

    New oil pump, oil pressure sensor, bearings and cranks bearings

    The oil pressure go down and I get a warning light to stop engine

    What can be happen?

    Are you at or around 25k on the oil ..
    These things are famous for soot plugging the oil filter .

    Not I’m not. It happens between 5-7k miles after oil change

    That engine is also common for spinning camshaft bearings at higher mileage. Pull the valve cover and inspect the top end. If you have too, run it with the cover off and check for excess oil return from all components.

    Cut open an old filter, any metal?

    Agreed, I'm guessing you either spun a camshaft bearing or the oil bypass relief valve is shot.

    Cummins has a TSB on the relief valves.
