Is there any benefit to the associations (OOIDA, NAIT, etc).

Anybody been members of more than one association? Any comparisons?

Ooida business service unit, gave me good guidance and sent me in the right direction.

Never used any of there "so called" benefits. When I looked into insurance, (talking quality not price) it was better than nothing. But no where as good as I could get on my own.

Was going to take thier truck insurance, but my company wouldn't accept it. Because ooida had successfully sued them.
So I mostly just use the members only forum web page. But imho it is $45 a year well spent. Just for access to CORRECT, LEGAL answers and connections alone.

Was leased into company that used thier insurance. Couldn't tell you jack about them, never had a claim.

OOIDA national account tire discount will save you over $200 each on wide-base super single Michelins. And they can help you with regulatory issues with oversize permits and things like that. So, the money you spend on dues is worth it for those things. But my wife and son always get a hoot out of the monthly magazine which is filled with articles about how the government and the big carriers are out to shut us down and regulate us out of business. There’s some truth to what OOIDA is saying, but they lay it on heavy, just like Trump does, because they’re telling their base what they want to hear. I’ll keep sending them my $45 or whatever it is, I suppose. ATA doesn’t give a rat’s butt about a guy with 4 trucks, that’s for sure.

Looks like mainly discounts and an insurance program.

I have had my insurance through OOIDA for the last 6 years and no complaints yet. The price is decent and the two times I've filed a claim they paid quick and no hassle. The legal advice and discounts are well worth the membership dues.

I just renewed my OOIDA membership today. $38. They are one of the only groups that pushes for us little guys who the ATA and Big money mega company are trying to push us over and out.

Well worth the small yearly dues. I enjoy reading the monthly publication they send out and the numerous discounts offered to its members if used more than pay for the yearly membership fee.
